ii) Siti Khadijah Market

Named after Prophet Muhammad’s entrepreneurial wife, Siti Khadijah Market is four-storey high and octagonal in shape. The market is run by mostly women and busy with the colours, scents and sounds of local community every morning.

The basement specially caters for wet items such as fish, vegetables, poultry and others.

The first floor then is set aside for dry food such as serunding (coconut shredding) and Kelantan’s famous dishes such as ayam percik, ikan percik, nasi kerabu, nasi berlauk, nasi dagang, laksa and somtam. Kelantan’s traditional delicacies such as tahi itik, akok, jala mas, buah tanjung, serabe, tepung pelita and many other delicacies are also sold here. The second and third floors are for non-food items.

iii) Wakaf Che Yeh

Located about 4km from Kota Bharu, Wakaf Che Yeh serves as a wet and wholesale market during the day where it turns into night market and comes alive at night with an assortment of local products ranging from fabrics and clothes to local food and fruits.

iv) Bamboo Fort Bazaar

Bamboo Fort Bazaar, locally known as Buluh Kubu Bazaar is a three storey complex with a collection of local products and handicrafts such as batik, gold and silver songket, sarongs, fine silverware, replica miniature musical instruments, colourful kites (wau), bags, beautiful pewter, accessories and souvenirs. The reasonable prices here make this bazaar very popular among the locals and foreign tourists.

v) Kelantan Duty-Free Zones

Kelantan duty-free zones are located at the border of Thailand, among the most popular are Rantau Panjang (45km from Kota Bahru) and Pengkalan Kubor (21km from Kota Bahru).
