Kampung Patau-Patau 2 Homestay

Malaysia’s Only Water Village Homestay

Established in the 1930’s, Kampung Patau-Patau 2 was rebuilt by the resilient villagers from scratch once the World War II was over.

The water village’s architecture and concept dates back to their ancestors in Brunei and the colourful wooden houses connected by sturdy boardwalks are busy with the villagers’ daily activities. Kampung Air Patau-Patau 2 can be reached by road or by water taxies (longboats), which are available daily from 6am to 6pm at the market jetty.

Visitors are feted to a sit-on-the-floor feast of “ambuyat”, a traditional Brunei-Malay meal of sago (Palm starch) eaten with steamed fresh crabs, paha-paha (green vegetables) and a variety of delicious local fares. Kausar, an aromatic fruit punch is served to accentuate the flavour of the meal.
